4 days Ruhija gorillas & chimp tracking tour provides you a chance to see mountain gorillas and chimpanzees while in their natural environment in Bwindi National Park and Kibale National Park respectively. The Ruhija gorillas will be trekked starting from Ruhija region, East of Bwindi, one of the best 4 regions Bwindi N Park has and there are 4 groups of mountain gorillas to visit here but you will be assigned to only one.

Bwindi National Park sits in South-western Uganda, 8-9 hours’ drive off Kampala Capital. The park occupies only 331sq.kms featuring a lush impenetrable forest where 459 mountain gorillas, 20 habituated mountain gorilla group families all reside.

Kibale National Park (KNP) in Western Uganda is a stunning primate destination hosting 13 primate species making it a true Primate Capital of the World. On the 4 days Ruhija gorillas & chimp tracking in Kibale, you will be concentrating in chimpanzee tracking experience which lets you interact with habituated chimpanzee community and also look out for other more primates, butterflies, flora, birds.

Day 1: Kibale National Park tour & Bigodi Swamp walk

Enjoy breakfast in a hotel in Kampala, meet your guide for briefing on 4 days Ruhija gorillas & chimp tracking Tour. After, leave Kampala for Kibale, 5 hours’ drive via Mityana-Mubende-Fort Portal City. Have a stopover at Fort Portal City for lunch before your guide transfers you to Bigodi wetland to enjoy a guided nature walk.

Day 2: Chimp tracking & Ruhija gorilla trip, 6hours drive

Assemble at Kanyanchu Tourism Centre for 7:00am briefing on chimp tracking rules from Kibale park official. Begin tracking chimpanzees at 8:00am taking about 2-4 hours and guaranteed 1 hour inclusive for you to have a close encounter with chimps in the wild, photo taking and have in-depth learning about their general behavior. Retreat from the Kibale Jungles, have lunch at the lodge and after, set off for 6 hours’ drive via Fort Portal, Kasese, Ishasha-see tree climbing lions then later check into the lodge in Ruhija sector.

Day 3: Gorilla Tracking Ruhija

Enjoy breakfast, after, gorilla trekking is the main highlight of your 3rd day of the 4 days Ruhija gorillas & chimp tracking tour. Get briefed about rules for gorilla trekking from Ruhija sector, allocation of gorilla families be done today and park guide leads you via Ruhija trailhead to look for mountain gorillas 2-6 hours inclusive of 1 hour for magical encounter. Today being a long day gorilla expedition, as you come for briefing, come with some snacks, bottled water. In the evening after relaxation in your accommodation at Ruhija, you will be led to Batwa community for cultural/community walk.
